Experienced NYC Tax Law Partner Alexander Apostolopoulos

Alexander Apostolopoulos began his legal career as a tax associate at Sullivan and Cromwell in New York City. During this time, he gained invaluable experience working on acquisitions and dispositions of business enterprises in the public and private sectors. His work included Kodak’s bankruptcy and subsequent restructuring. Alexander Apostolopoulos also represented Andeavor and Marathon Petroleum’s $35.6 billion merger, as well as Teva Pharmaceuticals $40.5 billion acquisition of Allergan’s generics business.

Alex Apostolopoulos subsequently spent a combined six years as a tax counsel and tax partner for American multinational law firms in New York City. He continued to emphasize tax-optimized acquisitions and dispositions, especially private-equity sponsor transactions. He represented many high-value, prominent transactions, including Cano Health’s merger agreement with Jaws Acquisition Corp., which valued Cano at $4.4 billion.

Alex Apostolopoulos is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School. His studies emphasized the complexities of the national tax system. He also graduated summa cum laude from Yale College with a degree in ancient Greek and Latin. He became a member of America’s most prestigious academic honor society, Phi Beta Kappa, during his junior year.
